  • cheerios, crawling, Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

So much has happened and changed since I've last blogged.  Donovan update:) he will be 8 months old next week....already.  We've started giving him cheerios with his food...and well, apparently we've created a cheerio monster.  He gets quite upset if he doesn't get his cheerios.  About a week before Christmas he started his version of crawling, which I dub the 'army crawl'. Watch out world!  No teeth yet which I'm not complaining because I'm still breastfeeding. Oh, and this child FIGHTS his naps with a vengeance.  Can't have it all I suppose;) But one thing he does that I absolutely adore is he hugs.  I've already got the best hugger in the world and he's 20lbs with big blue eyes and lots of reddish brown hair:)

Christmas was a great memorable experience this year:) We spent the night at my in-laws as to have a 'traditional' Christmas morning experience for our 4 year old nephew.  Well, Donovan was completely thrown off as to why we weren't sleeping at home, ergo not going to bed til almost 10pm and waking up ungodly early (6:30am). Christmas morning was a HIT! Donovan particularly enjoyed the paper, but he really does enjoy his new toys and books. Check out my facebook for pictures.

New Years. Happy New Year everyone! 2009 was quite the year for Sean and I, and I can only imagine how much 2010 is going to bring.  I have a few changes I want to work on this year, and with the right accountability and effort I can do it:)

Hope this new year brings happiness for each of you and God Bless.

  • Another one of my few and far between posts.  In recent news, Donovan turned 6 months last week.!!!!! Where has that 1/2 year already gone???? He is doing great though, minus the onset of a cold...or teething.  I think cold over teething though. So far for food he has had homemade carrots, green beans, peaches, and bananas.  The only thing he seems to not enjoy so far is baby oatmeal, so we will stick with the rice cereal for now:) At his appointment he weighed in at 19lbs even and 27 1/2 inches long.  Big Boy:)  I am really looking forward to Christmas and Thanksgiving this year.  I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week!

In other news, I am almost down to my prepregnancy weight.  Well, I have been for awhile now.  I am stuck on those last 8-10lbs.  However, if I really tried I could probably get rid of it.  But cooking for my husband doesn't help and the fact that he always wants cookies or something in the house and then he never eats it so I do.

Alright, it is bedtime for this momma.  Night!

  • Happy Halloween!  Donovan was Yoda...super cute!  He didn't end up going out trick or treating because of the cold weather, but he did help Grandma pass out candy:)

He is almost six months old already!  I really can't believe it.  I absolutely love him at this age.  He is so vocal and active with quite the personality shining through.  But on the flipside I really miss him being little.  Sigh, where does the time go.  Sean is really loving it right now when Donovan kicks his legs in excitement to see him.  Daddy love is the best.

As for me, I am learning how to juggle my fulltime job with being a wife and mother.  Many days I struggle with knowing what to let go. Most of the time it is making a good dinner or housework.  I get home from work, feed Donovan then that leaves me like an hour to figure something out for dinner, make it, etc then it is bedtime for little guy. I think I am going to start having to do prep the night before so all I have to do is just throw it in the oven when I get home from work.  Other than that life is really good.  I am really excited about Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up so soon!

  • Well xanga, it has been awhile.  It is hard to find a moment these days to blog, plus anytime I feel like I have something to share my mind seems to get bogged down by all the other bazillion thoughts running though my head.

Fall is here and the cooler weather brings a little bit of bittersweetness. Fall is typically my favorite time of year, but with our summer being so cool and short-compared to Las Vegas where the summer season was about 8 months and the winter season much much shorter. I almost wish I could spend my summer season there and come back to Michigan ready for the beautiful Fall.  I had to break down and turn on the heat the other morning.  Sean and I could deal with the cool house, but Donovan needed the warmer temps.

Life has been super busy with work, motherly and wifely duties.  Busy but amazing good.  God has provided well for us.  Donovan is almost 5 months old, and already outgrowing 6month outfits.  He loves his rice cereal and in a few weeks I am going to start him on some homemade baby food:)

Well that is all for now.  I am going to watch the Big Game and possibly take a nap with my little dude.

  • I am feeling totally encouraged this morning:) Ok, well midmorning.  I've already gotten a lot accomplished to sort of make up for yesterday in which I got nothing done.  Plus I checked my online class and noticed my prof had graded the work, so I checked it out and got completely positive feedback on my assignments thusfar:) Woot!

In other news, I borrowed a few cookbooks from my sister in law for healthy, easy recipes.  She doesn't use them so I am hoping to find a few really good ones.  I told my husband that I felt bad, since Donovan was born I have not had the enthusiasm to whip up a good recipe...nor have I had the time. But now that Donovan is easier to leave playing in his jumperoo or playmat for a bit, things are easier to get done.  Of course, as I say that he just recently started rolling over.  So, I can't go too far and leave him on the floor.

Well, that was a short update...baby is awake and hungry:) Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!
